Privacy policy
This policy explains how First Rain Ministries Int'l (“we”, “us”) handles personal data collected through this website. We aim to comply with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (and the NDPR), and with the UK GDPR and EU GDPR for visitors in those regions.
What we collect and why
- WhatsApp messages: when you tap a WhatsApp button (prayer requests, questions, partnership, registration), your message goes to our WhatsApp number and is handled in WhatsApp, under WhatsApp’s own privacy policy. Prayer requests may reveal religious beliefs or health information; we use them only to pray for you and, if you ask, to reply.
- Event registration: your full name, phone number, sex, city or country, how many are coming, whether it’s your first time and how you heard about the event. We use these only to organise the event (for example, seating and follow-up), with your consent, which you give by ticking the box on the form.
- Testimonies: your full name, sex, city or country, the event (if you say) and your testimony. With your permission we may publish it on this website and our social media, with your name, or as “A sister” or “A brother” with your city or country if you choose to remain anonymous. We never publish your testimony without that permission.
- Giving online: when you give online, Flutterwave’s secure checkout opens on our Give page. Your name, email, phone (if given), the amount and what it is towards go to Flutterwave to process the payment and send your receipt; card and bank details go only to Flutterwave, never to this website. Flutterwave’s privacy policy applies. We see the gift in our Flutterwave account, and use it only to account for gifts and thank you.
- Feedback: if we ask for feedback, it is collected with a Google Form, where you can answer anonymously; Google’s privacy policy applies to that form.
How it is handled
Registrations and testimonies are saved in a private Google Sheet that only the ministry’s team can open; nothing is emailed or shared with anyone else. We do not write the contents of forms to website logs. We keep personal data only for as long as needed for the purpose above (registrations, for organising that event and planning future ones), and we do not sell it.
Cookies and analytics
This site does not use advertising or tracking cookies. If analytics is enabled, we use a privacy-friendly, cookieless service that does not identify individual visitors. Your light/dark theme choice is saved in your browser’s local storage, only if you use the theme switch, and so is which Moments you have already watched (so they show as seen); neither leaves your device. Video thumbnails are images loaded from YouTube’s image server (i.ytimg.com), which sets no cookies. Videos and maps from YouTube and Google only load when you press play or “Show map”; at that point those services’ own privacy policies apply. Videos use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode. The same applies to Moments from TikTok, Instagram and Facebook: their players load only when you tap a Moment.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, object to or restrict its use, withdraw consent, or complain to a regulator (the Nigeria Data Protection Commission, the UK ICO, or your local EU authority).
