5 ways to know you're drifting away from God
By First Rain Ministries
Drifting rarely happens all at once. Here are five quiet signs that your walk with God needs attention.
1. You only run to God when you need something
Prayer gradually becomes a place you visit when you have emergencies rather than a relationship you cultivate every day.

2. God's Word no longer corrects you
You still hear sermons and even still read Scripture. But when the Word confronts something in your life, you find yourself explaining it away instead of obeying it.

3. What once disturbed your spirit no longer does
There was a time you could not comfortably do certain things because you knew they were wrong. Now you have learned how to explain them, excuse them or live with them.

4. You have lost your hunger for God's Word
The issue is not that you missed Bible study for a few days. It is that the desire to know God through His Word is gradually becoming less important to you.

5. Your love for God is no longer as deep as it once was
You may still attend church. You may still sing. You may still serve. But somewhere along the way, the relationship became routine.

Don't ignore the drift
If any of these signs sound familiar, don't ignore them. Take a pause, examine your heart, and return to Him.
Don't just save this and move on. Send it to someone who needs to examine their walk too.
